About CICDCalculator.com

An independent reference for the cost of running CI/CD pipelines across the major hosted-runner platforms. Operated by Digital Signet, founded by Oliver Wakefield-Smith. Built so the build-minute-budgeting question can be answered without reverse-engineering each vendor's pricing page.

Why we built it

CI/CD pricing varies wildly across the providers and the units differ: GitHub Actions charges by minute with multipliers per OS, GitLab CI charges by minute with shared-runner caps, CircleCI charges by credit with class-multipliers, Buildkite charges per-job, Vercel charges by build duration. Most top-ranking pages on CI/CD cost are written by competing CI providers angling for the comparison. This site exists to publish a like-for-like cost calculator across the named providers, with the per-provider rate taken from that provider's own pricing page.

About the studio

This site is operated by Digital Signet, an independent AI-development studio founded by Oliver Wakefield-Smith. It is part of a portfolio of consumer cost-reference and calculator sites we run as a live R&D lab for our Signet methodology, an autonomous AI development team that ships real software at scale.

Digital Signet does not sell CI/CD products, does not run a build-pipeline consultancy, does not act as a reseller, and does not accept paid placements from any CI/CD provider. Editorial direction is set by Oliver. Drafts are produced via Digital Signet's autonomous AI development methodology and reviewed against the editorial framework before publication.

What we hold to

  • Source pattern. One authoritative source per provider, cited per page.
  • No paid placements. Does not sell CI/CD products, does not run a build-pipeline consultancy, does not act as a reseller, and does not accept paid placements from any CI/CD provider. Independent of every named third party in the relevant space.
  • Math is documented inline. Where the site has a calculator, inputs and assumptions are visible on the calculator page. Nothing is hidden behind opaque scoring.
  • Update only when underlying reality changes. Triggers: GitHub announces a change to Actions per-minute rates or OS multipliers; Material pricing change at any tracked CI provider; New CI provider with publicly-disclosed pricing reaches material market share; OS-multiplier or resource-class structure change.
